Zen achieves a new look and acquires a new name, comics to explain why coming soon (hopefully).

Instead of my original idea of the Zen from his world being transported to this one I'm going with a version that originates in the SDL world.

Background:

Zen was born a slave in eastern Europe where his family had been sent after capture, sadly, Zen never got to know his mother as she died promptly after his birth. Zen worked in the fields during the day and at night his father would sneak and teach him to read and write after he turned five. Zen was a fast learner and eventually became even more fluent at reading and writing than his father, favoring tales from the east about warriors who settled their differences with their swords.

During a sweltering heat wave in the summer the entire slave owners estate caught fire in the night, many died in the unexpected blaze, including Zen's father, but many of the others were given new life as they were free to escape the cruel embrace of slavery.

Zen was only eight years old, but he was very intelligent and cunning, he eventually gathered money and headed east to Asia on a merchant's ship who took a liking to Zen. Zen seperated from the merchant upon arrival in China.

Zen became very sick during his travels and collapsed in the middle of the road where a young monk found Zen and carried him to his clans temple for treatment, Zen recovered and eventually joined the monks. He learned mulitple languages during his studies and was taught various martial art styles they practiced from around the world.

Zen became a child prodigy, at age thirteen Zen completed a hundred man Kumite and by age fifteen he topped all records by being the first ever to emerge from a five hundred man kumite. He was titled "The Fist of Gentle Steel" Because of his kind demeanor yet ferocious strength.

The night before Zen's sixteenth birthday the temple was attacked by unknown thugs, Zen was away at a local hot spring to relax and returned promptly when he saw the smoke clouds, when he arrived he was too late. All of the monks were dead and all of the silver, gold, and jade statues were stolen from the temple.

A golden coin was left behind with a cockroach emblem on it, Zen kept the coin and journeyed to find those responsible his journies eventually leading him to Japan and the SDL.
